Youth & Student Accounts


Penny Penguin Accounts (Ages 0-12)

An account specifically designed to help children under 13 maximize their savings potential. Let Penny help your child learn about financial responsibility while having fun at the same time. They can watch their savings account grow with each deposit they make. To help it grow even more, we will pay quarterly dividends (interest) on the balance in the account.

MyMoney Accounts (Ages 13-17)

A MyMoney Account from Soo Co-op Credit Union lets you deposit/withdrawal cash and checks, conduct transfers, and pay bills. MyMoney accounts are eligible for both Savings and Checking accounts (for checking accounts, an adult member must be joint or you must have proof of employment income). If an adult is joint on the account, the account may be eligible for a MasterCard Debit Card, Digital Banking, and/or Remote Deposit Capture (RDC). With these options available to you, you will have the ability to pay for purchases at stores, online, and make ATM withdrawals. You can also watch your savings account grow with each deposit you make. To help it grow even more, we will pay quarterly dividends (interest) on the balance in the account. It’s designed for you, but will pass the parent test, too!
